I am so very impressed with Brendon Burchard and I haven’t even taken any of his classes. There are so many things I admire about him.

  1. He has overcome adversity.
  2. He maintains a positive attitude.
  3. He has an incredible amount of energy.
  4. He doesn’t let people slide. He challenges all who come within his reach to challenge themselves.
  5. He is so generous, often giving away an incredible amount of content to help his clients.

Brendon appears to be the “real deal.” He shares his psychology and his methodology in his new book, The Charge: Activating the 10 Human Drives That Make You Feel Alive. He has identified the ten traits that help people live the life of their dreams and then he challenges others to activate these drives in their lives: control, competence, congruence, caring, connection, change, challenge, creative expression, contribution, and consciousness. (Gotta love his alliteration!)

In each chapter, he describes the drive, often tells a story about he or a client who implemented the drive in their lives, and lists three activators for each drive. Then at the end of each chapter, Burchard lists three Charge Points for consideration. Each Charge Point is posed as a question that if answered, will require the reader to take some action steps toward activating the drive in his or her life.

I really enjoyed the book and kept a journal entry after each chapter. It is my intention to follow through on all the charge points in my life. One example is that I am committed to taking on a new challenge in my month each month of the next year. Won’t you join me?
